WOW Vegas - Western Saloon Environment under the direction of Martin Weisz

For this project, I worked for
Verve Media under the direction of Martin Weisz to create a Western style saloon facade and desert environment for a commercial featuring Paris Hilton. The set was designed as a digital extension of a partial facade built in real life, with my 3D work serving as the backdrop that would be integrated in post-production.
I started by extending the saloon façade based on the references provided, carefully matching the colors, proportions, and corrections requested by the director. Also, I designed a custom WOW Vegas sign in the style of a classic Western saloon, blending perfectly with the overall aesthetic.
For the environment, I sculpted dunes and desert terrain in ZBrush, and integrated purchased cliff and mountain assets, which I textured in Substance Painter. All assets came together in Blender, where I finalized the layout, materials, and scene assembly, ensuring everything was ready for the final shot.
The result was a 3D Western Saloon and Stylized Enviroment that expanded the live-action set.
These are the reference images provided by the Director Martin Weisz, a reference of the actual facade where Paris Hilton was filmed and a reference of the style he wanted for the scene.
Using Substance Painter, I created a seamless sand texture for the floor.

A texture for the
set of wooden boards; these few boards were repeated with random positions and rotations for greater optimization.

I also retextured these cliff and mountain assets that I purchased to give them a
stylized style and use them in the background of the scene.

Using
ZBrush, I created three planes which I sculpted to generate dunes, dunes which were smaller as they got closer to the camera.

I applied
Decimate to these planes to optimize them for rendering.
The Dead Shrubs were a fun part of the project; they are actually only three variations, which then I generated on the terrain as instances.
The same goes for the rocks and joshua trees.
Thanks a lot for checking out this project!
