Cloud & Mist Backpack Concept & 3D Visualization
This project was part of building an early brand identity for Cloud & Mist, focusing on the design of a children’s backpack.
The client wanted to explore different styles and materials before moving forward with production.
The client wanted to explore different styles and materials before moving forward with production.
I began by sketching concepts on paper, using the client’s references as inspiration.
These sketches were translated into 3D mockups in Blender, where I shaped the base forms and then moved into ZBrush to sculpt folds, break symmetry, and add subtle details that made the backpack feel more natural.

The workflow allowed flexibility for iteration: as the project evolved, the client requested multiple variations, experimenting with materials such as leather, velvet, and plastics, alongside different color palettes and accessory options.
Texturing was carried out with Substance Painter and Blender, ensuring realistic material responses while maintaining creative freedom for rapid design changes. The final visualizations were rendered in Blender with a simple studio lighting setup, delivering clear, high-quality images that showcased each variation in a professional yet approachable way.
This project highlights my ability to combine concept design, 3D modeling, and material exploration to support both creative ideation and brand development.
This is a variation of the design that combines leather, magenta/pink velvet, and a main fabric that I designed based on the client's ideas.
It has a fun, abstract style with the brand's mascot as the main feature, which is also represented on a metal plate.
To design the fabric, I used Photoshop, resources such as stickers, fonts, and the mascot to create a unique fabric for the brand.
This is another variation of the design that combines leather, magenta/yellow velvet, and the brand's mascot in both metal foil and embroidery.
To create the embroidery, I used Substance Sampler, generating base color and displacement textures.
I also designed the fabric used in this design, based on the client's ideas. For this, I used Photoshop, with spray-type fonts, brushes, and resources to create a unique fabric for the brand.
Here I show how I modeled the base parts of the backpack in Blender, and then sculpted details and wrinkles in Zbrush
This shows changes to the bag's design as the project progressed, such as colors, fabrics, strap sizes, accessories, and their placement.
These were the first sketches I made, and the references sent by the client.
Thanks a lot for checking out this project!
